Current injury update on David Bakhtiari a big blow for Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have hit another roadblock in preparation for the 2021 NFL season. With the entire Aaron Rodgers trading saga dominating the headlines for the off-season, the Packers now have to grapple with a key absentee.

Packers’ All Pro Left Tackle David Bakhtiari was disfellowshipped not just for the first week, but more. Bakhtiari tore his cruciate ligament last December. He has been put on the PUP list since returning to the camp.

However, recent reports suggest that the Packers O-Line anchor will be absent for an extended period of time.

Green Bay Packers has dealt a heavy blow

Bakhtiari will remain on the list of physically challenged appearances for at least six weeks, according to the tweet from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. This means that Bakhtiari is not included in the Packers’ 53-man roster.

Bakhtiari’s absence will run the franchise without his services for big games against the Chicago Bears, Saints, and 49ers, to name a few. He was unable to conduct an investigation that would put him in the injured reserve and will therefore now be on the reserve PUP list.

The #Packers will keep All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari (knee) on the PUP list through the season, a source said, meaning he’ll miss the first six weeks. A tough blow for Green Bay, but this will give what may be the best LT in the game a chance to heal completely.
