Green Bay beheading defendant Schabusiness enters insanity plea

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay woman accused of killing and beheading her lover in February has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

Quinn Jolly, attorney for Taylor Schabusiness, entered the plea Thursday in Brown County Circuit Court.

As a result, a Sept. 19 court appearance for Schabusiness has been postponed while court officials work to schedule an evaluation.

It will be the second time the court has considered allowing an insanity plea in Schabusiness’ case. Judge Thomas Walsh had ruled in May, after hearing testimony from a psychologist for the prosecution and another for the defense, that Schabusiness was fit to stand trial.

The case is next slated to be in court at 3 pm Oct. 3.
