Kenosha man among drivers arrested on charge of OWI in fiery three-vehicle crash in Mount Pleasant | Crime & Courts

MOUNT PLEASANT – A Kenosha man was among three drivers arrested for drunk driving early Sunday morning after a fiery collision with three cars on Highways 11 and 32 in the village of Mount Pleasant.

Police arrested Herbert Aguirre-Lopez, 45, of Kenosha after recommending a drunken operation charge, his third offense, according to a press release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department. The police arrested two other drivers, Christopher Sanchez (33) and Kraig Herbrechtsmeir (56), both from Racine. Herbrechtsmeir is also accused of driving in the wrong direction on a divided motorway.

Nobody was seriously injured.

At 2:47 a.m., the police were called to the scene of the accident with three vehicles, one vehicle according to the notification being completely on fire. The officers found all three vehicles in the northbound lanes of Highway 32 and all of them were seriously damaged.

According to police, a 2011 Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Herbrechtsmeir drove south on Highway 32. A 2000 GMC Yukon SUV driven by Sanchez was driving north on Highway 32 at the time, watching the truck’s headlights go its direction. Sanchez turned to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful, according to police. The pickup hit the Yukon head-on.
