Kenosha men charged with vehicle burglaries in Antioch

Authorities said two Kenosha men were charged on Wednesday for breaking into vehicles in two neighborhoods of Antioch.

Police in Antioch said they were called to the Neuhaven neighborhood around 3 a.m. on Tuesday to report a suspect. According to police, a resident was awakened by an alarm from a motion-activated camera showing someone trying to get into a vehicle.

Police said they searched the area with a Lake County sheriff’s dog but found no one.

At around 6:30 a.m., officers saw two men walking near Walker Drive and Deercrest in Neuhaven. One of the men agreed with the description from the earlier report, and neither had a plausible explanation for being in the area, police said.

The men were later identified as Regis R. Flood-Span, 25, and Martell L. Miller, 31, from Kenosha. Police said they learned the couple was responsible for multiple car thefts in the Neuhaven and Redwing View neighborhoods overnight.

Antioch Detective Sgt. Charles Smith said cash, shoes, various electronic devices and spare keys were removed from unlocked vehicles. Several stolen items were recovered, he said.

Miller was also wanted on a Lake County theft warrant, Smith said. Three motor vehicle break-in charges were approved for both men.

The bail has been set at $ 20,000 each and they are due to return to court on April 8th.
