FOR THE KENOSHA NEWS

Citizens are invited to learn more about the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood and share their contribution to the redevelopment of the former car factory in the heart of the city of Kenosha during a public session on November 9th.

The city has been working with consultants, local stakeholders, and the community for more than six months to develop a framework for the new neighborhood, located between 52nd and 60th Streets east of 30th Avenues. The public is invited to attend a third public information event on the project from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the former Brown Bank Building, 2222 63rd St.

The proposed development concept begins at 5.30 p.m., followed by questions. The presentation summarizes the community’s feedback and guidelines gathered at the first two public meetings, as well as the hundreds of comments received through a survey on the city’s website. All contributions helped shape the design concepts for the website.

Preliminary plans for the neighborhood focus on educational and career development opportunities – including next-generation job creation – as well as housing, retail and services. The main goal of this project is talent development, innovation and job creation. The meeting participants will be asked for additional input to finalize the plans for the first phase of development.
