PADDOCK LAKE – A boiling water warning issued Tuesday in Paddock Lake, temporarily affecting residents of 238th Avenue and 239th Court, was lifted Wednesday.
Village manager Tim Popanda said repairs to an aqueduct in the area did not go as planned. At first it was believed that the leaking pipe could be repaired with a stainless steel band. After the pipe was exposed, it was clear that the water line needed to be closed so that a piece of pipe could be removed and replaced, he said.
“It affected 26 houses and around 55 people,” said Popanda.
The order was in effect until a secure sample was received at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Both the village and the Kenosha County Public Health Service monitored the results of the water samples.
The village went up late Wednesday to notify residents door-to-door that the cooking order notice had been lifted.
When the all clear for water usage was given, residents were instructed to run cold water from the bathtub faucet until it is clear and then flush each faucet for a few minutes until it is clear.

After two races, the winners of the Dachshund Dash at the 10th Oktoberfest had a lot to smile about. Owners Steven Pacheco with Damian and Jaclyn Pacheco with 4 year old Chewbaca or Chewie celebrated the dog’s ongoing winning streak as the top dog with a win in the past four years, with the exception of the event that didn’t happen last year during the pandemic. Runner-up Jax, 5, also brought home a trophy for her owner Jeff Goller of Oak Creek, along with the rights to brag.
