Vehicle drives in a group; One seriously injured | Local News I Racine County Eye

MOUNT PLEASANT – A person was critically injured when a woman drove her car into a group of people outside a bar here early Sunday.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department was called to the 2100 block on Racine Street at around 2:07 a.m. Sunday after a person was hit by a car. Police learned that the driver at the bar was involved in an altercation and had been removed by the staff. Then she spotted a group of people leaving the house and drove through the group, meeting a person trapped under the vehicle.

The injured person was transported by the South Shore Fire Department and later taken to Froedtert Hospital. The driver, identified as Andernette Ross, 33, of Racine, was arrested and charged with hit and escape injury while intoxicated, resulting in injuries, injuries from drunk vehicle use and attempted reckless 2nd degree murder.

Ross was being held in Racine County Jail. The incident is still being investigated by the Mount Pleasant Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
