Four free agents Packers must re-sign this offseason

The Green Bay Packers are limited in salary cap space, but they must find a way to bring back these four free agents in 2023.

According to Over The Cap, the Packers are currently -$16.28 million on the 2023 salary cap. Yeah, that’s not ideal. But they will find ways to create space and get under the cap before the start of the new league year.

The Packers may struggle to sign too many free agents, but they should seriously consider bringing these four players back.

Keisean Nixon

Keisean Nixon was a first-team All-Pro as a return specialist this season. He made kick returns a strength for the Packers.

Nixon led the league in kick return yards, with highlight reel returns of 105 and 93 yards. His 105-yarder was good for a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings.

He also provides good cover at cornerback, so Green Bay needs to ensure Nixon is back in 2023.

Yosh Nijman

According to ESPN, Yosh Nijman led all tackles in run block win rate this season. Nijman started 13 games, lining up at both tackle spots during the year.

Nijman is a restricted free agent, so it should be an easy choice for the Packers to bring him back next season.

Allen Lazard

Allen Lazard is a reliable pass-catcher. He led the Packers in receiving in 2022. He is also a talented blocker, as I’m sure you can remember him blocking three players at the same time in Green Bay’s victory over the Miami Dolphins on Christmas Day.

Green Bay has a young receiving corps. Lazard returning would ensure the Packers still have a reliable veteran at wide receiver.

Dallin Leavitt

According to Pro Football Reference, Dallin Leavitt played on a little under 72 percent of Green Bay’s special teams snaps this season. Only Tyler Davis featured in more.

Leavitt played a vital role in a much-improved Packers special teams unit, so he needs to be back next season.
