KENOSHA, Wis. — Peter Cayanus, 70, of Kenosha passed away on May 25, 2022, at Parkside Manor surrounded by his loving family.

Peter was born on Feb. 18, 1952, in L’Anse, the son of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Sullivan) Cayanus. He graduated from Baraga High School in Baraga.

He received a degree in small gas engines from Northern Michigan University.

Peter was employed as a floor maintenance supervisor for Walmart for many years.

He attended Fellowship Baptist Church of Racine, Wis.

His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Cayanus of Kenosha; children, Julie (David) Koller of Michigan, Lisa (Bob) Conrad of Wisconsin, Phillip (Lori) Crary of Illinois, Colleen (Miguel) Rivera of Louisiana; brothers, Frank (Jean) Gourneau, Roy (Arlene) Gourneau, Maxwell Gourneau; sister, Lindy (Lloyd) Kunick of Michigan; also included are 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred, James, Charles and his sister Jean.

A celebration of life will be held June 18 at Balsam St Christian Church at 324 Balsam St in Kingsford.

Visitation will be from 10 am to noon with a service at noon and a lunch to follow.
