BB guns confiscated at Wilson Elementary, Washington Middle schools | Crime & Courts

Kenosha Police and officials from two local public schools are investigating reports of gun injuries after they seized BB guns from students at Wilson Elementary and Washington Middle School earlier this week.

On Tuesday, officials on Wilson Elementary, 4520 33rd Ave., responded after the incident was reported shortly before 4 p.m., according to police radio traffic.

The incident at Washington Middle School, 811 Washington Road, happened Monday.

Kenosha Unified spokeswoman Tanya Ruder confirmed that the BB guns had been brought into the schools. Nobody was injured or threatened, she said.

Notification to Wilson and Washington school principals, Rhonda Lopez and Shane Gayle, went to the students’ parents or guardians, stating that the weapons had been confiscated and that the school administration and police were involved in the investigation. Discipline is expected from both students.
