CDA ordinance fails in Madison | News

MADISON – An ordinance on Madison City Council’s agenda on Wednesday night would have transformed the Madison Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA) into the Madison Community Development Agency (CDA).

As a CDA, it would have been administered directly by Madison City Council. Mayor Al Brandl spoke out in favor of the regulation, saying he proposed it not only because of the recent TIF overpayment problem, but that he believed a council-run Community Development Agency would be more “functional” and keep all records in one place .

The ordinance was introduced but died for lack of a second.
