Corpse found in Little Suamico, Recommended Fees for a Green Bay Resident | WFRV Local 5

LITTLE SUAMICO, Wisconsin (WFRV) – On Monday, June 7, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department released a statement regarding the Ark Beach Road murder in February 2021.

On February 22, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that revealed a body was found in the parking lot of the Green Bay Shores State Wildlife Area on Lade Beach Road.

Upon arrival at the scene, the sheriff’s department met with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). When the body was discovered in the parking lot, the sheriff’s department believed the man had been there for some time because the body was partially covered in snow.

When investigating the area, several 9mm bullets were found near the body. The corpse later showed injuries caused by gunshots. The investigation into the body was conducted as a homicide.

A 35-year-old MGP was later identified on the body and is believed to be an isolated incident.

On Monday May 17th, 32-year-old Manuel Antonio Herrera-Hernandez and a 30-year-old MV were arrested by Green Bay during a traffic stop for drug offenses. During the first interview, MV admitted that Herrera-Hernandez shot MGP.

On Tuesday, May 18, further interviews were conducted with MV. During the interviews, she admitted that she was in the car with Herrera-Hernandez when he shot MGP. She told officers that they picked up MGP on Walnut Street in Green Bay and then took him to a remote area to be shot and killed.

Following this interview, officials will interview Herrera-Hernandez on Wednesday, May 19. During the interview, Herrera-Hernandez admitted shooting and killing MGP. He stated that MGP owed a drug debt. He also admitted taking MGP, driving him to a remote area, shooting and killing him, and then leaving the area. It was also revealed during the interview that MGP was involved in the sale and distribution of illicit narcotics in the Green Bay area.

The Oconto County District Attorney’s Office for Herrera-Hernandez has been recommended to charges of first degree willful homicide. No further information was released. Local Five will provide more information as more details become known.
