Devin Booker didn’t make the trip to Milwaukee to face the defending NBA champions.
The Suns All-Star remains in the league’s COVID health and safety protocols and is listed out for Sunday’s finals rematch showdown against the Bucks (39-25) on ABC.
Phoenix (51-12) continues its three-game road trip Tuesday at Orlando (16-48) and ends it Wednesday at Miami (42-22) in the second of a back-to-back.
The Suns beat the Magic, 132-105, in Phoenix, but lost to the Heat, 123-100, Jan 8. Miami has the best record in the Eastern Conference while Orlando has the worst.
Booker has missed Phoenix’s last two games. The Suns won both.
They trucked Portland by 30 and won a thriller over New York, 115-114, as Cam Johnson hit a 3 off the glass at the buzzer in scoring a career-high 38 points.
Johnson nailed nine 3s to tie a franchise record, but is also ruled out for Sunday’s game with a right quad contusion suffered Friday. Johnson took a knee in the thigh from Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, who was contesting a shot.
Phoenix is still without All-Star point guard Chris Paul, who will likely miss the rest of the regular season with a fractured right thumb on his shooting hand suffered against Houston before the All-Star break.
With the league’s best record, the Suns beat Milwaukee in their first matchup this season, 131-107, Feb. 10 in Phoenix.
