RALEIGH, NC – James Madison men’s golf climbed into eighth place on a strong leaderboard on Sunday afternoon, capping the weekend at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted at the par-72, 7,287-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
The Dukes continued their run of strong final rounds, carding an even-par 288 as a team on Sunday to finish eighth out of 14 teams at the event. Across four events, the Dukes have shot par or better in three of their final rounds in 2022-23.
Freshman Owen Kose led the way on the weekend, rolling through rounds of 73-71-70 to climb into a tie for 12th on the final day. The performance marked his third top-20 finish in four college events.
Senior Nick Schlickenrieder picked up a top-25 finish of his own, tying for 24th with a weekend of 73-70-77, while sophomore Daniel Cheng propelled himself up the standings with a final round 68 (-4) that lifted him to a tie for 33rd at 222 (+6).
Freshman Vaclav Tichy (75-76-73) and sophomore Kyle Kushnir (74-78-78) closed out the JMU scoring on the weekend, finishing in ties for 46th and 71st, respectively.
Playing as an individual, junior Sigurdur Blumenstein missed a career low by a single shot, capping his week with a final-round 71 (-1) to finish tied for 66th at 229.

The Dukes will cap the fall portion of their 2022-23 campaign this coming weekend, traveling to Furman Golf Club on Oct. 22-23 to take part in the Furman Intercollegiate. GolfStat will provide live results of the event.
