Lowell Eugene Hammer

MADISON – Lowell Hammer, age 88, lifelong Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was born on Feb. 2, 1934, in Lone Rock, Wis. Lowell is the husband of Mary Hammer and the father of Lisa Hussey, Dana Hammer, Camilla Corcoran, and Paula Holden.
Lowell loved cars and worked as a certified mechanic at Hults Chevrolet, Thorstad Chevrolet and then the City of Madison for many years. In his spare time, he loved tinkering with cars and anything mechanical, working on things around the house and garage, spending time with his family, friends and camping. Being a loving and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Lowell. He was a kind and giving person, always willing to help a neighbor or friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10:30 am on Friday, May 27, 2022. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service on Friday.
