FITCHBURG – Maj. (Ret.) Lowell D. “Mike” Millisor, age 101, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, with family by his side, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on June 14, 1920, in Delphos, Ohio, the son of Melvin and Emma (Short) Millisor.

Mike graduated from Edgerton High School in Ohio in 1938. He served in the US Air Force for 24 years, as a B17 Pilot during World War II where he flew 31 missions over Europe, retiring as a Major in 1965. After retirement, Mike worked for the UW as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1987.

Mike was united in marriage to Charlotte Lagesse on July 18, 2007, in Fitchburg. Mike was loved by so many people. He was truly a gentleman, always showing kindness, respect and high regard for others. To Mike, every day of the week was “Peachy Dandy.” His positive disposition and unconditional love brought so much joy to those around him. He was a man of all trades and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Mike loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and the Tuesday Night Riders and Chowder Society, a motorcycle riding group. He loved traveling on his motorcycle and was still riding his BMW at the age of 90. Mike enjoyed his daily walks through Wildwood Park, playing cards with his family and reading the newspaper, especially the comics. He loved anything chocolate and ice cream.

Mike is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Mary Erdman; four grandchildren, Tamera Foye, Michael Reimann, Terese (Peter Jamrozinski) Beier-Wolf and Alyssa Erdman; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stephanie Reimann; son, Ronald Wolf; three brothers, Leonard Millisor, Charles Millisor and John Millisor; three sisters, Olive Berry, Georgia Naomi Robinson and Lois Blythe; and former wife, Betty (Wall) Millisor.

A funeral service will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, at 11 am on Saturday, March 5, 2022, with burial to follow at Middleton Junction Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 am until the time of the service on Saturday. Masks are preferred by the family.
