Milwaukee Police are giving away bluetooth devices, promoting safe driving

The Milwaukee Police Department distributed Bluetooth devices to promote safe driving during an event on Saturday, July 10th.

The Milwaukee Police Department hosted an event promoting safe driving on Saturday, July 10th.

Specifically, the event focused on one thing that some people are guilty of on a regular basis – talking on the phone while driving.

“I’m guilty to be honest. Everyone is I think,” said Cruz Romo.

Milwaukee Police Department continues to encourage people to drive safely, so District 6 has decided to make hands-free calling a little easier.

“We’re distributing these bluetooth wireless devices that can connect to your phone,” said Officer Fabian Garcia.

The Milwaukee Police Department is promoting safe driving through the distribution of Bluetooth devices.

Older vehicles may not have Bluetooth access, so the driver has one hand on the phone and the other on the wheel.

“There are a lot of accidents that happen to people texting, so if you have bluetooth, please use it,” Garcia said. “It’s good to have that for safe driving.”

For those who can’t make it on Saturday, there may be another opportunity to score a Bluetooth device.

“If we have any equipment left after that, we’ll be holding our National Night Out next month, August 23rd, on Monday, so we’ll be distributing those equipment even then,” said Garcia.
