Safety concerns at Kenosha fireworks show after deadly Illinois shooting

Groups gathering in Kenosha to watch the fireworks show are staying vigilant after a deadly shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. Police there say a gunman killed at least six people and injured more than two dozen others at a Fourth of July parade. This shooting happened Monday morning about 30 miles from Kenosha. The incident was top of mind for people at Harbor Park Monday evening. “As far as being scared, I’m not going to let that scare me, so you just got to go on with your life and just be aware,” said Daryl Forsythe, fireworks spectator. People say they’re not scared, but they are bothered. “It’s getting getting pretty bad. Every time you turn on the TV or whatever, you hear this or you hear that,” said Forsythe. “I’m more worried about my safety and everybody else around me. Make sure we come out and enjoy ourselves and when it’s time to go, we get home safely,” added Solomon Jones, who attended the fireworks show with his family. Law enforcement in Kenosha were on scene in tactical gear during the fireworks show.
