Sharon “Sherry” A. Sears Obituary

Sharon A. Sears, 80, De Pere, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Sharon was born on November 19, 1941 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the now late Aaron and Vivian (Steger) Mildbrandt. She was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School with the class of 1959 and furthered her education at UW Whitewater graduating with a BA Degree in Business Education. Sherry started teaching at Denmark High School but the majority of her career was in the Green Bay School District teaching Business until retiring from Southwest High School. On August 17, 1963 she married Gerald “Jerry” Sears in Sturgeon Bay and the couple enjoyed almost 56 years together. Jerry preceded her in death on July 30, 2019. Sherry was an avid golfer and belonged in several women’s leagues throughout the years. She was dedicated to her family and never missed an opportunity to be there for them and loved going to her grandkids sporting events. She was loving wife, mom, grandma, a friend to many and will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Sharon is survived by: her children, Dr. Timothy T Sears (Mary), Thomas S Sears, Tammy S Jones (Brian). Grandchildren, Alex, Sam and Rachel Sears, Tori Sears, Sarah and Christopher Jones, 3 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. 3 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Susie (John) Rakow, Sally (Mike) Brotcke, Shelley (Brian) Mitrzyk, and their children and grandchildren. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the Ledgeview Community Center, 3700 Dickinson Road, De Pere. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the first responders and hospital staff for all of their efforts in assisting Sherry~ your kindness and compassion means a lot.
