“Tanya getting booed by fans during the Green Bay game sped up their desire to sell”

The Washington Commanders have been a mess for a long time. Luckily for their fans, the team is now up for sale. Owner Dan Snyder has been pressured to sell the franchise amidst allegations of a toxic workplace culture and harassment of female employees.

Snyder initially refused to put the franchise up for sale. But the other NFL owners don’t want any part of him. He made a lot of questionable decisions during his tenure with the Commanders. There are already groups interested in purchasing the Washington franchise, but no deal is close to being signed yet.

As Synder decides what to do with the franchise, the NFL season moves forward. The Commanders introduced their new mascot during a halftime event against the Cleveland Browns this past weekend. Neither Dan Synder nor his wife Tanya were present at the ceremony. This was noted by many fans in attendance, and led to a lot of speculation among reporters.

I’ve heard from multiple people now that neither Dan nor Tanya Snyder attended today

I haven’t gotten confirmation yet, but if it is true it would be a notable situation under the shadow of the team sale on a day they honored the Hogs + new mascot

Have they just… checked out?

Even with the team on sale, it felt weird not to see Snyder present during a big moment for his franchise. The Commanders are located in one of the NFL’s biggest markets. They are one of the most storied franchises in the league.

(STORY – How can the owners just abandon them?)

The owners are unhappy with Snyder because he has embarrassed the league with his antics. It has nothing to do with how they personally see him. They are not pushing for his departure due to greed or pettiness. They want Snyder out because he has been a really bad owner.

How much can we expect the commanders to be sold?

The franchise’s value is expected to be around $5-6 billion. The owner isn’t in a hurry to sell, so this process could take a while. The Washington sale will probably surpass the recent acquisition of the Denver Broncos. The Walton-Penner Ownership Family Group spent $4.65 billion to become the new owners of the Broncos.

Dan Snyder has hired bankers to kickstart the selling process. He has been with the franchise for over two decades, but success on the field has been scarce. The franchise has won three Super Bowls. None of them came during Snyder’s tenure. This is why fans are so happy to see ownership finally change hands.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s owner, is thought to be one of the favorites to purchase the franchise. With a team placed in the US capital, there will be no shortage of interest.
