The Milwaukee Bucks were supposed to sign the recently purchased tall man LaMarcus Aldridge.

Each season, some of the NBA’s best teams make mid-season adjustments to prepare for the playoff push. The prevailing thought is that the first half of the season has shown management the strengths and weaknesses of the team. Changes in the line-up required to move the team from competitor to champion should be clearer than ever.

The 2004 Detroit Pistons are one of the best examples of a midseason change. After falling to the New Jersey Nets in the 2003 Eastern Conference final, it was clear they were only a short distance from becoming a serious threat to the Larry O’Brien trophy. At the close of trading, they managed to take a step for perennial all-star Rasheed Wallace. The rest is history. The team angered the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals and became one of the most memorable championship teams in history.

That season, the Milwaukee Bucks were one of the favorites, coming from the east and representing the conference in the NBA finals. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s belief in signing a Super Max extension ensured that the team would remain relevant over the long term. By entering into a deal for all-star point guard Jrue Holiday, the team received the floor general who could take them to the next level.

After a rocky start, the Bucks have found their booth and currently occupy second place in the conference behind the Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks now seem a bit away from being the best team in the league. Veteran striker LaMarcus Aldridge, recently bought out by the San Antonio Spurs, would be a perfect fit at Milwaukee. Let’s take a look at why the Bucks should make the seven-time All-Star the newest addition to the roster.
