This year’s Big Read book is “Lab Girl” by Hope Years. Free copies are available from library branches and the Civil War Museum.

It’s World Book Day, so go to a local library and get a book. Or two. Or three … there is still a long way to go before spring. We encourage you to pick up a free copy of this year’s Big Read novel: “Lab Girl” the award-winning treatise by the American scientist Hope Years. Complimentary copies of Lab Girl are available in all Kenosha Public Library branches, the Civil War Museum and the Community Libraries in Salem and Twin Lakes while supplies last. Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum, 880 Green Bay Road is hosting “Little eyes under the sky” This evening. Families “take turns looking through our 16-inch telescope at binary stars, cloudy planets, distant galaxies, and other celestial objects.” Note: Participants should dress appropriately to be quiet outdoors during nighttime weather. The Kenosha Comedy ClubThe hotel is located in the Wyndam Garden Hotel at 5125 Sixth Ave. and offers two shows this weekend Comedian Rocky LaPorte.
