The following is a list of the upcoming programs in the Racine Public Library:

The library is currently closed. The library has limited services. Thank you for your patience as we strive to provide you with items safely that you can pick up on the roadside in the library and at the bookmobile locations. To request items please call 262.636.9217

The new opening times for roadside collection, internet services and the RPL call center will begin on March 1st.

RPL Main is postponing its hours in response to user usage. Earlier opening times on Fridays and Saturdays replace rarely used evening hours. This change is temporary. RPL is currently able to offer roadside pickup and internet access by appointment. Our call center is also available.

The RPL will continue to be adjusted as the library gradually expands the services we offer.

March times: Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mobile curbside pickup: Have your handles placed on the bookmobile. Pick-up from a location near you. Visit www.racinelibrary.info for the Bookmobile schedule.

Call center: Call or send a text at 262.636.9217, RPL your reference questions we are available to help you! Email [email protected] The staff is available Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Do you need a library card? You can now register for a digital library card at www.racinelibrary.info. A physical card will be sent to you.

Extended Internet Services: Use the Internet, print, ask questions and scan by appointment! Fifty-five minute sessions (no extensions specified) and library card are required. Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., side door on Lake Ave. There is a metal sign in front of the door that says “Curbside Internet”. Call 262.636.9217 to make an appointment. All COVID-19 protocols are followed. If you need more time please ask the staff to check out a laptop.

Parking lot WiFi: RPL has extended its WIFI coverage to the customer car park. You can use your devices to connect to the library from the security of your car. If necessary, the password to be used is rpl75lake

Tax forms: The 2020 state, state, and homestead tax forms are now available for roadside pickup. If you need earlier years please call 262.636.9217

United Way Tax Assistance: The United Way is practically offering tax assistance this year. Visit the website https://www.unitedwayracine.org/vita

Financial Empowerment Center: Racine’s Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) provides professional financial advice as a free public service. Services are available to all residents regardless of income. With the Racine FEC, you can take control of your debt, deal with debt collection agencies, improve your credit, create a budget, save, connect to safe and affordable financial products, and much more.

Tuesday stories: 10 o’clock | Tuesdays | Facebook Live. Join Miss Carrie and Miss Ali live on Facebook and share stories and songs.

Family history: 10 o’clock | Wednesdays | FB / IG / YouTube. Join Miss Gail for weekly stories.

Musical family history: 10 o’clock | Thursdays | FB / IG / YouTube Miss Carrie has fun songs and stories to share with you.

First chapter on Fridays: 1 p.m. | Fridays | FB / IG / YouTube. Let our youth service librarians whet your appetite for amazing books. We’re going to share the first chapters of some of our favorites, from early chapter books to young adult. A new story is published every week so don’t miss out!

Just do handicrafts with Miss Keiko: 10 o’clock | Friday April 7th | FB / YouTube. Take and make craft kits. Register program, RPL will be released when kits are ready for collection. Virtual planetarium night: 6 p.m. | Tuesday, March 30th | Zoom & FB Live. Explore the spring skies with the Geneva Lakes Astronomical Society. Ask questions, learn about new space explorations and upcoming heavenly events. Register at www.racinelibrary.info or by calling 262.636.9217.

Sexual Assault Awareness: 6 p.m. | Wednesday, April 7th | Zooming. The presentation focuses on things like healthy relationships, consent, care, and human trafficking. Teenagers:

Create your own virtual stickers: 1:00 pm | Wednesday, April 7th | Zooming. RPL works with the Gateway Fab Lab and learns how to make, design and print your own vinyl stickers. Register at www.racinelibrary.info or by calling 262.636.9217

Adult programs

Anti-Racism Book Group: Monday, 1 p.m., online via Zoom; Every week the book group selects, reads and discusses books on the topics of racism and black culture. To join the group and receive more information, please email [email protected]

Genealogy Club: 3:30 p.m. | Thursday, April 8th | Zooming. Explore the resources of the Racine Public Library, monthly guest speakers on topics like writing your family history and documenting your family tree. Email [email protected]
