Kenneth Wright Obituary (1948 – 2021) – Kenosha, WI

Kenneth D. Wright, Jr.

1948-2021

Kenneth Dwaine Wright, Jr., 73, died of kidney failure on October 10, 2021 at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Kenny was born on September 10, 1948 in Beaver Dam, WI, to the late Lorraine Millicent (Hanaman) Wright and Major in the U.S. Army Major Kenneth Archie Wright. He was her firstborn. Kenny had two younger sisters, Dawn and Yvonne, and an older half-brother, Curtis.

Being in a military family, “Junior” (as he was then called) moved many times while growing up and lived in Beaver Dam, WI; Camp McCoy, WI; Camp Dachau, Germany; Relay, MD; Lawrence, IN; Highland Park, IL; and Libertyville, IL.

Kenny graduated from Libertyville High School in Libertyville, IL in 1966 and attended McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL before joining the US Air Force.

In 1970 Kenny met the love of his life, Linda Heynssens, while working at ML Rothschilds. March 2021 they celebrated their 45th anniversary.

Kenny has dedicated his professional life to customer satisfaction. For more than 30 years he was a self-employed manufacturer of apparel agents for major brands that were sold under private label to Sears, Kohls and Montgomery Ward. For the past 13 years, Kenny was a home improvement field sales specialist for The Home Depot.

Kenny was an avid reader who loved fishing, boating, and woodworking. He spent his weekends working in the yard and talking to the neighbors. He was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. And he had an unmatched reputation among friends for telling jokes, some of which were even funny. Most of all, Kenny was a generous, kind, and caring person. He is sorely missed by family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenny preceded his two sisters Dawn Elaine DeFreitas and Yvonne Lorraine Woods in death.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Linda Marie (Heynssens); his half-brother Curtis Lynn (Jo Ann) Wright of Corvallis, OR; three nephews, Christopher (Barrett) Wright from Delray Beach, FL, Bryan (Maria) Wright from Corvallis, OR, Anthony (Heather) Woods from Phoenix, AZ, and a niece, Megan (Robert) Schneider from Ft. Wayne, IN.

The funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin at www.kidneywi.org. The Proko Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
