The Duchess of Cornwall shared how her love for books was inspired by her father. Camilla said in a video recorded for her online book club, The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room, that Major Bruce Shand “devoured books” and was “the best read man I have ever met”.
We are looking for further reader recommendations for the summer edition of “Liz’s Book Club”.
Every summer, Kenosha News readers join this “club” that shares favorite titles through your local newspaper. Our list includes all types of books, from the latest thrillers to popular classics.
This year’s list – which has had so many great suggestions – was originally due to be published in our Sunday paper on August 15th.
But on this day there is a special back to school section running instead of our usual living pages. Therefore, the book club will now run on August 22nd.
The good news? You still have time to send in your book titles!
It’s easy to join this “club”: just tell us about a great book (fiction or non-fiction) – or several books – you’ve read. In addition to lots of great reading suggestions, you can also win a $ 25 gift certificate for our own Blue House Books in Downtown Kenosha. Everyone who submits a book proposal will take part in a random raffle for the gift voucher.
The book club has listed more than 1,000 titles since 2009 – and the trend is rising. That’s a lot of books, and only about 40% of them were written by John Grisham. We kids, but seriously, the prolific writer has a lot of fans.
