From Cornfields to Deserts, Triathlon Signs Madison Judas

TEMPE, Arizona – Madison Judas of Iowa joins the Sun Devil Triathlon to become a six-time national champion.

“Madison comes to us as a very experienced triathlete with a very strong swimming background,” said head coach Cliff English. “We are very happy to have her and we believe she will be a great addition to our team this season.”

Judas is currently a senior at Waukee Northwest High School and has qualified for the state for the past three seasons in cross country. For her success she received the Effort Award (2018) and the Coach’s Award (2019 and 2020).

In her only swimming season, Judas received the Senior Swimmer Award (2021) from her state championship swim team in Waukee Northwest. She swam 100 m and 200 m freestyle.

She ranks 43rd in the Iowa High School swimming rankings.

At the USA Swimming Sections last year, Judas was a finalist for several freestyle events.

The American competed in triathletes at a young age, but did not begin competitive sport until she was 15. She completed all of her national triathlons in the top 15.

During her early high school years, she competed in premier club soccer as part of Team Iowa and held a GPA of 4.05 academically. As soon as she sets foot at ASU, Judas hopes to study business administration.
